For this activity we had to write a letter to Jacinda Ardern about an issue and how we can help that issue. I chose the issue about landfills. Landfills are a very bad and dangerous thing that we should get rid of. By getting rid of landfills we could make the packaging for not only products but more things reusable or recyclable. Landfills only polute the air that we breathe.
Hello Farzana! It's really good to see you so active and keeping up with all the Summer Learning Journey activities. This is a really interesting topic you've chosen to talk about. You are completely right that landfill is not very environmental or healthy, but this would be difficult to fix since we've already let it expand and grow to this huge amount. But you do have some pretty good ideas, keep up the great blogging!

ReplyDeleteYour SLJ is off to a wonderful start. You are well on the way. A good letter that you make some good points. The recycling idea works for many products but I think there are many items that need to be included on the list of recycled items.

ReplyDeleteWow! I have enjoyed reading your letter about landfills. I also think that landfills shouldn't be here in New Zealand, but it would be hard to have everything recyclable and reusable. You have a very descriptive and persuasive letter.

ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing letter you have written! I think that your ideas are absolutely relevant and incredible to say the least. I totally agree with your stance on the topic of landfill areas and I also think that it would be unfair for us to pass on our rubbish to other countries’ landfills which we currently do. Yes it may temporarily avoid problems in NZ but essentially we are still affecting the environment therefore the planet, in a negative manner. I am super impressed by the way in which you write and the way that you express your ideas in a subtle persuasive manner.Ka pai for writing such a beautiful piece Farzana, keep it up! :)
