LI: to be cybersmart. 

Being cybersmart means to be knowledgeable with devices. If you are cybersmart you can keep safe while on the web. This activity was based on being a smart learner. We needed to label the work we have completed as "completed". 

PB4L Bus Rules

LI: to understand the rules in a bus.

Understanding the rules in a bus can help people show respect to the bus driver. In the provided presentation, it talks about how we can show respect to the bus and the rules of sitting in a bus.

We should never stand up while a bus is travelling as it can be a very bad hazard. There are no seatbelts provided in a bus which makes it even worse. 

In order to show respect to a bus driver, we can use our manners as well as follow the rules of the bus. In most buses, the rules are: no eating, no drinking. By following these rules, we can keep out of trouble.

Keeping Cybersmart

LI: to create a DLO that helps others become cybersmart.

Cybersmart means to be well-informed with devices. People are cybersmart to keep themselves and people around them safe. 

This DLO shows some features that can help someone go to one place to another faster on a chromebook or some other devices. One of the features are: shortcuts. Shortcuts are the combinations of keys that can let someone go from one place to another. 

Being cybersmart is a crutial part of learning because it can help people understand what to do with a devices.

Tidy Drive

LI: to keep a tidy drive.

Keeping a tidy drive is a part of learning properly. It creates space and organizes your drive.

For this activity, we completed an activity where we were required to differentiate Google Slides/Docs/Draws into the correct folders. 

After completing the activity, we needed to clean our own drive and provide proof via a screenshot of our tidy drive.

I enjoyed this activity because keeping a tidy drive is beneficial to my learning.

Using Smart Images

LI: to understand how to use the explore tool.

Our challenge was based on creating a DLO instructing people about how to use the explore tool and attribute images.

To use the explore function, you need to click the insert button, then go to the 'image' tool. After this, press 'search the web'. Doing this should allow you to find images that have the creative common use. 

Attributing an image gives credit to the owner of the image and lets people know that you are able to use the image.

I found this challenge simple and trouble free because I am familiar with attributing and searching for images.

Cybersmart | Kawa of Care

LI: to be cybersmart and use our devices in a smart and clever way in order to learn, create and share.
  

Being cybersmart means to be knowledgeable towards a device in order to keep it secure and safe.

Understanding the rules of the Kawa of Care, can help someone to learn, create and share.

Some of the rules state that a person should: never have food around the netbook, charge near a wall to contain a risk or hazard, placing a netbook away from the edges on a table, use two hands when carrying a netbook around, put the chromebook in a case when going outside with it and more. These rules ensure that the netbook can remain protected.

Knowing the keyboard can assist with how fast someone can type and finish their work. When someone memorizes their keyboard it will be easy to complete a task.

Being cybersmart can help to learn, create and share a person’s work.

Summer Learning Journey | Day 1 Activity 2 | Comments Count

Commenting on other people's work is a good way to come up with a new understanding behind the work put into the blogpost. 

Today, I commented on Sakina's blogpost about the first SLJ task. To create this comment, I looked at the Quality Comment poster. I think that my comment is a quality comment because I thought about all of the areas in commenting.

I used a greeting, connection, positive thought and asked an open question. Open questions are questions that require more than a small phrase as the answer.

I enjoyed commenting on Sakina's blogpost and hope she can reply. I think that this task was easy because our class has already been learning how to comment on other people's blogpost.

Typing Tutor

Typing tutor is an activity that tests how accurately and fast you can type without looking at the keyboard. 

I completed the U-R-K keys and moved on to the next keys.

I think I can do better, but I also found this activity not too easy but not too hard as well.
