LI: To present an animation, poster, movie, and skit.

The DLO's were: Animation poster, the movie, and the skit. We presented our Animation, Skit, and Poster. I enjoyed presenting to the class but I was nervous.

Music

LI: To play the notes and chords of a song.

Yesterday the year fives went to music in room eight. We played these following songs: We don't talk anymore, Lean on me and Count on me. I went on the keyboards and xylaphone. When you're on the keyboards you have free time which means you can play any song or any note. I like this activity because you get to learn how to use instruments.

Little Red Riding Hood | Writing

LI: To write an imaginative recount.

Today Alayah & I finished our imaginative recount about Little Red Riding Hood. The recount had to be in the wolfs perspective or Little Red Riding Hoods perspective. We chose Little Red Riding Hoods perspective. We had to write the events and ending. The structure of a recount is TREE (Title, Reveal, Events, & Ending). I enjoyed writing the events and ending of Little Red Riding Hood.

Term 1 Kiwican Overview

LI: To recap everything we did in Kiwi Can.

Today in kiwican we recapped all of the learning from term 1. Our big theme was Positive Relationships. Our 3 modules were-Positive Communication, Friendship, and Cooperation. We made 3 groups. Each group talked about the 5W's and H for 1 module. After we talked as a group, each group shared their ideas back to the class. I enjoyed playing Netball tag. I learnt how to show co-operation properly. I need to improve on positive communication because I don't talk to many people that much.

Presentation | Maths

LI: To learn something about the class or school.

Today we had to present the data we collected on the following question: Where is the most popular place to sit and rest in the school. Statistics means gathering information and clean all of it. We had to clean out all of our data and then make a table out of our data, then make a graph using our data. After that we make a slide presentation and put down our results. We got marked out of content and voice. Only I spoke clearly to the class and my other group members didn't speak clearly. Our points for content got a three. So all together this made four. We got 4/6 points. I enjoyed presenting to the class but I was a bit nervous.

LI: To retell a text.

Today I was reading a book that I chose from home. I did the book: How I alienated my Grandma. I enjoyed reading the book.

Commenting

LI: To give feedback to someone.

Today I decided to comment on Charlizes blog post about Kiwi Can. She made an infographic explaining the ways you could say no. I think her infographic is very good and the ways of saying no isn't disrespectful. The ways of saying no is: No thanks, That's not a nicce thing to do, It's just not my thing, & Let's just do something else instead. I really liked her blogpost, but she needed to re-read the blogpost for any mistakes. I enjoyed commenting on her blogpost.

Hauora | 4 dimensions | Inquiry

LI: To find out about the four dimensions to a healthy body.

Today we were learning about the four dimension that keep you stay healthy. Those dimentions are: Physical, Mental / Emotion, Spiritual, & Social. The Maori names are: Taha Tinana, Taha Hinengaro, Taha Whanau, Taha Wairua. Physical means development with your body. Mental / Emotion is about the brain, thought process & feelings. Spiritual is about about the morals, values and beliefs of something. Social is about friends, family and how you can have a positive relationship with someone. I really enjoyed this activity with my group members and hope I could apply this learning to teach someone in the future.

Kiwi Sport | Ki O Rahi

LI: To practise the full game of Ki O Rahi.

Today for kiwi sport we were practising our skills. We had to get into a red team or blue team. I was in the blue team. We started first as Ki Oma.

To score a goal in Ki Oma you have to touch as many Poe as you can and run through Te Roto and score a try in Pawero. If someone rips your tag you have to pass it to a tammate in blue. If someone rips both of your tags you have to pass it to another person in the other team.

To score a goal in Taniwha you have to get the Ki and throw it to the Tupu. If you miss it doesn't count as a try, and if you hit the tupu withought the Kaitiaki getting it you get a try. Your other goal is to rip Ki Omas tag.

I enjoyed this session of Ki O Rahi. I think we should play this next week.

Music

LI: To learn how to play notes and chords.

Today we were went to room eight to do music. A group of people went on the keyboards, xylophones, and Ukeleles. I was on the Ukeleles first then after 15 minutes switched to the xylophones. We were practising the notes: C, F, A, & G. I think I am pretty good at the notes. If you can master the notes C, F, A, & G you can play most songs. My favourite thing to play on is the Ukeleles and Keyboards because on the Keyboards you can use headphones to not hear anything else other than your Keyboard. A Ukelele is fun to play on it if you actually concentrate on the notes and chords. I enjoyed playing the Ukelele and Xylophone.

Kiwi Can

LI: To build a positive relationship.

Today in kiwican we were learning about friendship. We learnt that there are times we can say no! We talked about situations where is is ok to say no! We discussed different ways to say no that dont cause disrespect.

We did an activity called empathy role play. A group acted out a situation and as a class we needed to decide the way to say no:

Our options were;
- No thanks
- Let's do something else
- It's just not my thing
- That's not a good thing to do

Infoghrapic | Edward Herman Weber | Reading

LI: To research a range of resources to find information.

This week we had to make an infographic about a soldier. My soldier was Edward Herman Weber. He carried a peice of paper that recorded all of the soldiers injuries. I think that is very useful for people. Edward's was fighting in WWI. I really enjoyed creating an Infographic about Edward .H. Weber.

Websites used:

I will give a big thank you to CanvaWalking with an Anzac and Cenotaph for this information on Edward Herman Weber.

Cleaning Data | Maths

LI: To learn something about the class or school by using statistics.

This week we were cleaning our data that we collected. The question was: Where do you like to sit and rest in the school. We had to fix the mistakes like double ups. I there was only one double up in the responses. I enjoyed this activity and hope we can do this again.

Writing | Little Red Riding Hood

LI: To write an imaganitive recount.

This week we were planing our recount based on the narrative Little Red Riding hood. We had to pick if we were doing Little Red Riding Hood's perspective or the Big Bad Wolf's perspective. Alayah and I are doing Little red riding hood's perspective. We only had to finish the plan, the title ideas, and the reveal. The structure of a recount is TREE (Title, Reveal, Events, Ending). I really enjoyed this.
