Setting Discription | Writing

LI: To investigate figurative language.

This week for writing we were learning about showing and telling sentences. We had to pick a setting and tell the reader about the setting for the 'Telling' text box. For the 'Show' text box we had to try to make the discription better by using the five senses and figurative language. Figurative language helps the reader keep guessing what you are talking about but we also had to keep a balance of figurative language and simple, compound and complex sentences. The five senses are: Touch, Taste, See, Smell and Hear and the figurative languages are: Simile, Metaphor, Personification, Hyperbole & Understatement.
