LI: To learn the names of the planets in Maori.
The suns name in maori is: Te Ra. Mercury is Aparangi, Venus is Kopu, Earth is Papatuanuku, Mars is, Matawhero, Jupiter is Parearau, Saturn is Rongo, Uranus is Wherongo and Neptune is Tangaroa. This week in inquiry, with Ms. Anderson, in partners, we created a DLO showing the translations of the solar system in Maori. My partner was Sakina. In our DLO we included attributed images of the planets, interesting facts and the translations in Maori. After we created the DLO we started to record it. Sakina and I struggled to say the Maori names and recorded a few times because we were struggling, but we finally finished it. I enjoyed this activity with Sakina.
