Metaphor

Metaphors are a comparison between two things that have a similar trait.

Metaphors is a kind figurative languages. Figurative language is used to describe in a way that gives a simple property but also creates a facsinating image.

An example for a metaphor is: She is a thorn in my side. The object is the girl. The comparison is the thorn. The meaning is that someone is very annoying.

Another example for a metaphor is: The boy has a heart of a lion. The object is the boy. The comparison is the heart. The meaning is that the boy is courageous.

People can describe many different things using metaphors like: a persons voice, colours, flavours, a persons appetite, the weather, and more.
