Skimming & Predicting | Reading

LI: To identify the different strategies we use as a reader.

This week for Reading we had to create three different DLO's (Digital Learning objects). Two of the DLO's were about how to use reading strategies. Our group chose Predicting & Skimming. We created an infographic for the skimming DLO & we made a poster for the predicting DLO. The third DLO was a presentation about both of the reading strategies. It had to include: An Example, A Text Example, and the meaning of the strategy. I enjoyed creating the DLO's.

Writing | Modifying Sentences

LI: To modify simple sentences.

This week for writing we had to create a DLO about modifying sentences. We had to think of a simple sentence and make it more descriptive by adding: An Adgective, When you did it, Where it was held, How did you feel, and Why did you go. I enjoyed creating this DLO (Digital Learning Object) and making these sentences.

How to Tell the time | Maths

LI: To teach people how to tell the time.

This week for maths we had to create a DLO of telling the time. We first did activities so we have a good understanding of: Telling the time. We then had to start on the DLO. On a clock there is small lines that represent each minute. There is 60 minutes in total in an hour. The short thick line represent the hour hand. The long thin hand represents the minute hand. The clock is like fractions. The clock is divided in two parts. The to part which is on the left hand side and the past part which is on the right hand side. I enjoyed creating this DLO.

Inquiry | Good team & Bad Team | T Chart | Body outline | Padlets

LI: To identify the characteristics of having a healthy/non healthy relationship. This week for inquiry we had to create three DLO's (Digital Learning Objects). The first thing we did was make padlets about people we can have relationships with. The second padlet was about examples of how a relationship can change. Then we moved on to the body outline. We had to make the good text in black and the bad examples in red. After finishing of the body outline we had to create a T Chart. The T Chart was about what makes a good team and what makes a bad team. We first had to think about the examples then we organised it by what we think is the most important example. I enjoyed participting in this activity. My favourite part was the T Chart.

Kiwi Sports | Ki O Rahi

LI: To learn how to play the Ki Oma role in Ki O Rahi.

This week for kiwi sport we were learning how to play the Ki Oma role. We started of by learning how to start the game. A person in the Ki Oma team kickes the ball to the Kaitiaki (Gaurdians). The Kaitiaki enter and exit through Te Ara. If the ball rolls or touches the ground it is the Taniwha teams ball. However, if the ball goes in the air and the Kaitiaki catches the ball it is Ki Omas ball. To practise these skills we played: Save Te Ara and Golden child. I enjoyed this activity, my favourite part of the game was when we played golden child.

My group and I enjoyed making this poster.
