Maori

This week for our first session of Maori we did a rotation. We had to get into groups of six and they were the people that we were going to stay with for all of the Maori sessions.

My group started with Whaea Odie. We got asked questions like: Ko wai to koe? (Who is your friend?), Ko wai tou ingoa? (What is your name?), Ko wai au? (Who am I?) & Ko wai to matua? (Who are your parents or mama/papa?).

Our second rotation was Whakapakehatia. For Whakapakehatia we had to translate sentences that were in Maori into English. The first scene was about Sione getting invited to breakfast by his friends mum and dad and the second scene was about Haami's brother Nui meeting Sione.

The third rotation was Kopu. We had to complete a digital work sheet were we had to find a translation of what the words mean.

Our fourth rotation was activity. We had to complete a table with mixed up definitions of Maori gods and we had to write down what we thought the god meant, then insert the real defition.
