LI. To create three different size Quatrefoils about Christmas, Armistice day and Max Gimbletts artwork. This week for art we had to create three different quatrefoils with different themes. We first did this digitally and then after that we made them with paint, pastels, and colouring pencils. The top quatrefoil was the smallest paper, the second one is the medium size, the last one is the largest paper. The smallest was the Christmas theme with colouring pencils, the middle is the Armistice day theme with pastels, and the last one is the Max Gimblett theme quatrefoil. I really enjoyed this activity, although it took a week for us to finish. I think that my quatrefoils turned out better than I expected.
For the biggest quatrefoil we used paint. The black paint for the biggest quatrefoil represents the explosive paint that Max Gimblett does and the green and red represents the Flanders fields. For the medium sized quatrefoil we used pastels. The medium sized quatrefoil represents the soldiers singing the last post for the soldiers. The reason why I used gold for the background was because I think that the soldiers who died are gold. For the smallest quatrefoil we used coloured pencils. The holly on the smallest quatrefoil represents the Jesus. The ornaments represent the shimmer of the trees.
